With approximately 10
million people and 3,600 plant and animal species living along, within or
near the Chesapeake Bay's shores (not including the millions more using
the waterways for recreational and commercial purposes), our entire staff
believes in doing everything possible to preserve America's largest
(and the world's third largest) estuary.
The leading threat to the
health of the Chesapeake Bay is excess nitrogen and phosphorus pollution -
much of which comes from agriculture, sewage treatment plants, runoff from
urban and suburban areas, and air pollution from automobiles, factories,
and power plants. Our marina and staff has always (and will continue
to) minimize our creation of these pollutants.
